For a while now I have really been settling into the idea of the crystal palace. That we, living in our own imagination and experience, carry these beautiful indescribable little crystal kingdoms in our mind's heart. And we each seem to carry our own with it's individual building materials and landscape. If we could quiet ourselves to that realm and listen to each other we would have an endlessly expansive world. We could experience another's crystal palace with the attention and awe it deserves. We could close our eyes and realize how infinite the space of the universe within actually is. We could fly.
But that's not how it seems to go. It is so easy to believe that our palace is what a palace looks like. To fight for the limited resources of this world and reality to build it. To feel our palace is the right palace and in that, to know that we matter. As if convincing others that our palace is real makes it real. Makes it more valuable. So we work to inscribe it in some way, as I am doing right now, in the invisible ether. The landscape of the online, the 'cloud', the attempt to build concretely in the untouchable imaginary.
Can we quiet ourselves and just listen and watch and enjoy? Isn't that where peace really comes from? To delight in the small differences that can be so transformative to an internal landscape and be reassured by the connection and truth that runs across us all? I want to tell you about the endlessly expansive crystal palace of my heart, and please trust me when i say I really do want to know the magic of yours too.
